IN THE WORDS OF DICK SOLA: The Racer's Race Track;
In 1972 Treasure Valley racers, officials and their families combined their efforts to create a new racing facility.
The racers were involved in all aspects of the creation of the new race track from the initial design and construction of
the facility to operation of the race track upon its completion. The race track measures 3/8 ths of a mile when traveled in
the center of the racing groove. The bottom groove of the track is a 1/3 of a mile while the largest outside diameter is nearly
a half mile in distance. This race track was originally known as the Super Oval Speedway and with its corners possessing an
eleven foot banking and sixty foot width instantly became the fastest 3/8 mile paved track in the Northwest. During its existense
the track has been visited by a number of drivers whose names are known by racing fans all over the United States. Names like
Billy Vukovich III, Rick Carrelli, "Quick" Nick Rescino and Mike Bliss, Chaparral Speedway carries on a legacy of a racing
facility which is truly the Racer's Race Track.
